Vinted Members Share Anger About Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.
Social Media Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.
Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Updates
Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
User Accounts
One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained.

The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
